Pelvic lymph node dissection in prostate cancer.
The results of pelvic lymph node dissections in 105 prostate cancer patients were analyzed to compare the clinical with the pathologic stages. Twenty-four per cent of patients clinically believed to be node-negative had positive nodal involvement with cancer.

متن کاملImaging Cellular Proliferation in Prostate Cancer with Positron Emission Tomography
Prostate cancer remains a major public health problem worldwide. Imaging plays an important role in the assessment of disease at all its clinical phases, including staging, restaging after definitive therapy, evaluation of therapy response, and prognostication. Positron emission tomography with a number of biologically targeted radiotracers has been demonstrated to have potential diagnostic and...
متن کاملRole of salvage lymph node dissection in prostate cancer.
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Oligometastatic prostate cancer (PCA) has increasingly been detected in the era of modern imaging studies such as choline-specific and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positron emission tomography and X-ray computed tomography (PET/CT). Recent evidence suggests that durable control is attainable with local treatment modalities such as salvage metastasectomy or stereot...
متن کاملExtended Salvage Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection in Patients with Recurrent Prostate Cancer
Background. Treatment of patients with a biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer (PCa) is generally difficult and without valid treatment options. Since 2004 we have been developing therapeutic possibilities for these patients. Methods. We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 41 patients with a BCR of PCa and a mean followup of 40.3 ± 20.8 months. Group 1 (n = 10): salvage radical prost...
